should i have PCI-DVR to record from Security Camera to PC?

i wont to connect 4 cameras to my pc so i can leave it record on HDD . so should i have to buy DVR – PCI card ?? or what is the best way to connect it to pc ??

You have a couple of different options. You can get the PCI DVR card or your can purchase a whole DVR system with the cameras already. I think you might like the PCI DVR option because that way you can start out without spending a lot of money at first. You can add on 1 camera or go up to 4. When you get the PCI card, there are certain motion activated software packages you can run to start your system. Here are some more details with the PCI card:

Those PCI cards are relatively inexpensive from Amazon. They start at around $30 and go up.

When you get your cameras, try to buy one with the largest lens possible. They get better resolution usually. Here are some sample Night Vision images from a decent camera:

One thing that is cool as well is to watch your security system on your mobile phone. You can do that with a piece of software called Mobiscope which is about 10 dollars:

I think those things will get your started. You will need a decent sized hard drive to store all the video over about a 2 week period. I would go with a 1 TB hard drive, but you could get away with a 500 gb hard drive as well and just not have the video quality the highest.
