What is the cause of the purple tint in the viewfinder of my digital camera? CCD separation due to unglueing?
I bought a Fujifilm Finepix V10 digital camera almost 18 months ago. Last week, all of a sudden, the viewfinder shows images that are purple-tinted and multiple/blurry in nature – pictures taken come out the way the viewfinder looks – purple, etc!
I was told that this was due to glue not holding and causing CCD separation. I admit that I do not know what that means. However, I was also told that this was not uncommon in some makes of Digital Cameras from 3 years ago or so. Further, a camera dealer thought that there was a recall and/or rebate offered on such malfunctions.
Does anybody know if this problem can be fixed (reasonable price), or is the camera finished and a new one has to be bought? Is this flaw something I can contact the company about and they can fix, either with a rebate or fix for free?

Call Fujifilms help line and see what they say.
Unless you left the camera in the car and it got heated to over 160 degrees for days at a time or some kind of chemical vapors got to it, there is no reason for your camera to be doing that.
