Which of these 2 Nikon Lenses Should I Buy? Pls. Help!?

I just bought a D3100 and I’m planning to buy a Nikon AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G in addition to the kit lenses but had a second thought of getting the AF-S DX Micro Nikkor 85mm f/3.5G ED which really caught my attention. I want to take on macro and at the same time portraits but simply have no budget to get both lenses…do I need to?

The 85 mm macro will certainly increase your vision into the small world that is all around you, is is a little long for shooting portraits. If you are into shooting macro, the lens you my like is the AF-S 60 mm f/2.8 macro which is a better focal length for shooting portraits using your D3100.

The 85 mm is a perfect lens length if you had a D700 or D3, full frame camera, but you don’t.
